That sounds like a fantastic plan! The Telluride gondola typically doesn’t close for the season until mid-October, so you should be able to enjoy the ride on September 30th without any issues. No reservations are required for the gondola ride. Have a wonderful time in Telluride!

Hi ken! The most direct route typically involves taking Route 160 from Durango to Mancos, then turning right onto Route 184 towards Dolores, and finally turning right onto Route 145 south of Dolores.
